Sermon Title: Cultivated In His Character: Gentleness

Scripture: Galatians 5:22–24

  

This week, Pastor David continued the sermon series, Cultivated In His Character, with a message from Galatians 5:22–24. Specifically, he noted:

Going Deeper:

 

  • When you hear the word “gentleness”, what comes to your mind? How does the God of the Old Testament confirm or contradict your image? Explain. 
  • In Matthew 11:29–30, Jesus invited His followers to “yoke” themselves to Him – to choose relationship over religion and delight over duty. How does Jesus’ gentleness provide rest for your soul?
  • Pastor David shared that gentleness in our life does not mean that we ignore sin. In light of Christ’s example, how are you called to approach sin in another believer’s life? 
  • “Restore” in Galatians 6:1-2 means two things: 1) tell the truth, and 2) be tender and gentle. When are you tempted to be truthful without being tender and gentle? Will you ask God to help you in those situations this week?
