Help Support Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief
On Sept. 26, 2024, at 11:10 p.m., Hurricane Helene made landfall near Perry, Florida. With winds reaching 140 mph, the Category 4 storm ranked among the most powerful to ever strike the United States. As the severe damage, stretching from Florida to North Carolina, became visible in national media, Dawson members began asking, "How can we help?” Now is the time to pray for Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers as they help those who are hurting by laboring on site through ministries such as chainsaw operations, admin, chaplaincy, shower/laundry, and feeding operations. Every member of the Yellow Shirt Army is a trained witness, so pray that the Gospel will be spread even as highly practical help is offered to people in need.
Within 48 hours of landfall, Dawson, as a church, responded with financial support for Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief efforts to send volunteers. How can you as an individual give to support relief efforts? If you would like to give go to https://sbdr.org/give/. 100% of donations will help people whose lives have been affected in areas of need. None of the donations are used for salaries or other overhead. The Cooperative Program has already provided for the ministry infrastructure that makes possible the quick deployment of Disaster Relief volunteers and equipment.
