Acts 5:12–42

This week, Pastor David continued the sermon series on the book of Acts by reminding us of the principle that it is sinful to submit to sinful commands.

GOING DEEPER:

• In this chapter, we see the early church growing in what can only be described as the Holy Spirit at work. When are you guilty of trying to compartmentalize the work of God and trying to make Him fit in a "box" that you can understand? Explain.

• Have you ever been tempted to obey man rather than God? How did you respond to that temptation?

• Pastor David shared the principle that it is sinful to submit to sinful commands. How is this principle part of your past? Present? What can you do to prepare for a time when it will be part of your future?

• Do you have the courage to experience and endure personal dishonor for the name of Jesus? If not, are you willing to ask God to help you do so?

 

The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24–26
