Graves Into Gardens

John 20:1–18

As we celebrated Christ's resurrection, Pastor David shared a message entitled "Graves Into Gardens." He reminded us,

1. The Resurrection Gives Us Hope In The Face Of Our Failures
2. The Resurrection Gives Us Hope In The Face Of Our Finality

GOING DEEPER:

• In John 20, we read of the first recorded believer in the Resurrection (John) and the first witness to the risen Jesus (Mary). As you peer into the empty tomb through the word of God, how do you reconcile Mary’s eyewitness account and the other evidences of Jesus’ resurrection?

• Pastor David shared that the Resurrection matters because it gives us hope in the face of our failures. Scripture teaches that we all sin (Romans 3:23), and our sin deserves to be punished. However, Jesus, the innocent One, came to rescue us from our sin debt. Describe how you feel about Jesus giving His life to forgive your sins.

• Pastor David shared that the Resurrection also gives us hope in the face of our finality. Jesus walked through the valley of the shadow of death, silenced it, and offers victory over death for all who trust Him. Do you trust Jesus in the face of your finality and eventual death? How can you continue to celebrate the One who escaped the final hold of death?

The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.
