Kingdom Authority

Matthew 8:1-17

 

This week, Brad Gowing shared from Matthew 8:1-17 the account of what happened with Jesus just after He finished teaching the Sermon On The Mount. Read and reflect on those passages as you answer these questions.

 

  • Jesus acted with authority over sickness and disease. Where did His authority come from?
  • Jesus noticed the faith of the Centurion. What made his faith noteworthy?
  • Describe a time when you have experienced the power of God’s Word. How did that experience effect your perception of God’s authority?

In your time with God this week, ask Him to help you examine your own faith. Is it noteworthy? Is it simple, yet profound? Are you submitting to Christ’s authority alone? Respond to what He shows you by re-committing to Him.
