Acts: Trials
Acts 24–26

This week, Pastor David taught a message from Acts 24–26 on Paul's road to Rome. In the message, he explains:

  • The Message Of The Gospel Often Sounds Ridiculous To The Skeptical
  • The Message Of The Gospel Must Be Shared To Be Believed

GOING DEEPER:

  • Pastor David said that one of the things we see reflected in Paul’s life is that God is never in a hurry and is always on time. Even when God’s timing isn’t our timing, He does not waste the time “in between” where we are and where we are going. What are some circumstances in your life that has taught you this truth?
  • When Paul got a chance to plead his case before the officials, he used the time to speak of his life before Jesus called him and the need for all people to place their faith in the Lord Jesus. What was your life like before you met Jesus? How are you abiding in Him daily and yielding to the Spirit’s transforming power in your life?
  • Pastor David shared that the message of the Gospel often sounds ridiculous to the skeptical. Our calling is not to rewrite the message to make it more palatable to others who have no category for the miraculous. How can you rest in the knowledge that the pressure is not on you to make others trust in God? How can you take advantage of the opportunities that you have to share your faith knowing the results are in God’s hands?
  • The message of the Gospel must be taught to be believed. We are God’s Plan A to spread His love and the good news of Jesus’ sacrifice to rescue us from our sins and death (1 Peter 3:15). Who do you need to share the hope of the Gospel with in the coming days? How can you change your schedule this week in order to make more time to pray for God’s power and presence to be with you as you share your faith?
