Shipwrecked
Acts 27:1–28:16

This week, Pastor David taught a message from Acts on Paul's journey during a storm. In the message, he explains why:

• Every Storm Is An Invitation To Trust God More Deeply

GOING DEEPER:

  • While this part of Paul’s story seems like a detailed account of a journey to many harbors, Pastor David shared that this passage illustrates the truth that every storm in our lives is an invitation to trust God more deeply. How do you see this truth in Paul’s story? How have you experienced this truth in your own life?

  • Paul's storm was a result of his faithfulness to Jesus. Being obedient to God’s will and following Him will not always be easy. However, God uses the storms of our lives to shape us. Describe a “storm” in your life when God shaped you to be more like Jesus. How are you different now?

  • Pastor David shared that we trust God through the storm because we know that what He allows in our lives is always for a better purpose. Our God is a redeemer. He took the worst injustice in all of human history—the cruel death of His perfect, innocent Son, Jesus, and used it for the greatest good in all human history—the purchase of salvation for all who would turn to Him for forgiveness. What step of obedience do you need to take this week as you trust God more deeply?

  • As believers and followers of Jesus, we have a choice during our “shipwrecked” days: to turn to God or to turn away from God. What are you choosing right now? How do you need to change your schedule this week to make more time for prayer, silence, and submission?
