Defense: Part 2
Acts 22:17–23
This week, Pastor David expanded on Paul's defense in Acts 22. In the message, he explains:
- The Lord Is Always With Us
- The Lord Always Goes Before Us
GOING DEEPER:
-
We are familiar with the inconveniences in our lives: “When it rains, it pours.” Sometimes, however, the little things can add up and lead to discouragement or even to a season of despair. Has this ever happened to you? Describe.
-
Pastor David shared that we must hold on to the reality that through the Holy Spirit, God is always with us. God promises to be with us when our hearts are breaking and when we are crying out in uncertainty, pain, disappointment, and confusion (Matthew 28:20; Psalm 34:18). How have you experienced this truth in your walk with the Lord? How did that season strengthen your faith in Him?
-
As we face times when we are tempted to despair or forgotten by God, Pastor David encouraged us to remember the words that the Lord said to Paul, “Take courage.” The Lord always goes before us. Describe a time in your life that, you now see God had actually gone before you preparing a way for you.
-
God is still with us, and God still goes before us. He is still writing His extraordinary sovereign plan through ordinary men and women. Every day God shows up in our lives. This occurs most often through the ordinary and what might seem like a small gesture—a card sent, a meal delivered, a phone call—the concern of regular, everyday people seeking to be found faithful. God uses little acts of obedience to accomplish His great plan. Who is God laying on your heart this week? How will you reach out to oPer encouragement and hope in the name of the Lord Jesus?
