A Life Worthy Of Imitation

1 Thessalonians 1:1–10

This week, Pastor David began a new sermon series from 1 Thessalonians. In his introduction to this book, he noted:

  1. Authentic Faith Produces Real Change In Our Life, vv. 4–5; 9–10
  2. Authentic Faith Produces A Life Worthy Of Imitation, vv. 6–8

GOING DEEPER:

  • The Gospel came to the believers in Thessalonica in word and in the power of the Holy Spirit. The miracle of salvation is always the divine work of the Holy Spirit. How did the Holy Spirit work in your life to bring you to salvation in Jesus?
  • Genuine conversion and authentic faith produce a changed life over time. God saves us to transform us into the image of His Son. What changes do you see in your life during this season? How are you becoming more like Jesus?
  • Pastor David shared that the only way we can break free from idols in our life is to turn to something better. How has your appetite for the things of the world changed since you became a follower of Christ? What is still lingering in your life that you need to turn from?
  • In 1 Corinthians 11:1, Paul writes “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.” As a follower of Christ, can you say that your life is worthy of imitation for other believers? Explain.

May the LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. ~ Numbers 6:24–26
