Ephesus
Acts 19

This week, our Executive Pastor, Brad Gowing, taught a message from Acts that reflects on Paul's continuing journey to spread the Gospel. In the message he unpacked:

  • When the Word of God Prevails: Progress for the Gospel
  • When the Word of God Prevails: Persecution from Satan
  • The Holy Spirit is the Fuel for the Progress of the Gospel

GOING DEEPER:

• Brad shared that the testing of our faith leads to boldness and maturity in our own relationship with Christ. Trials strengthen and refine our faith. How have you experienced this truth in your daily walk with Jesus?

• As Paul, empowered by the Holy Spirit, focused on preaching and teaching the Gospel boldly, he was correcting false teaching and overcoming opposition. How does Paul’s boldness encourage you to share the Gospel with your family members, friends, and neighbors?

• While we do not face persecution where we live, we have brothers and sisters in Christ for whom persecution is a daily reality. How can you change your schedule this week to make time to pray specifically for those who continue to proclaim the gospel despite persecution?

• Paul always worked on plans for where he would share the Gospel next, but he only went in alignment with the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 13:4; Acts 16:6–7: Acts 19:21–22: 1 Corinthians 16:5–10). Are you praying for the Holy Spirit’s guidance? Are you being faithful to God’s Word and obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit in your life?

The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24– 26
