Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died–more than that, who was raised–who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

The Learning Center is a Dawson ministry seeking to break the generational cycle of poverty through adult education. We are working with individuals to earn a GED, learn to read, develop life and computer skills, and share the Gospel every step of the way. Our program operates like a school so we need instructors who can teach our students the subject matter of the GED. You don't have to be an educator. (We have engineers teaching Math, nurses teaching Science, and people who like to read teaching reading.) If you are interested in stepping into the classroom or substituting on occasion rather than teaching weekly, we would love to equip you to do that.

“I believe.” These two words are among the most meaningful words any person can utter. The Apostles’ Creed has shaped and guided Christian faith for almost two thousand years. But do we know what it really means—and how it applies to us today? In this study, Pastor David will walk line-by-line through each section of the Creed, revealing its rich truths. The Apostles’ Creed is an often-overlooked treasure that contains the power to shape us for vibrant and steadfast living, equipping believers to live faithfully in today’s culture. For more information, please contact Jan Kennamer Hart at (205) 871-7324 or jkennamerhart@dawsonchurch.org.

Candlelight season is quickly approaching! If you would like to sing or play for Candlelight 2022, then come join with the Sanctuary Choir & Orchestra for the premiere of this year’s music. We will gather in the Fellowship Hall for refreshments and share this year’s theme, general flow of the service, and take our first look at exciting, fresh, and familiar songs. If you would like to play with the orchestra, please contact Dan Mullis at dmullis@dawsonchurch.org, and if you would like to sing with the choir, please contact John Woods at jwoods@dawsonchurch.org.
We will begin a new season of Thursday Chapel on September 22. The theme for 2022-2023 will be God’s Power is Made Perfect in Our Weakness. Tommy Sanders will be teaching from 2 Corinthians. Please join us for a time of worship, special music from the Dawsonaires, and encouragement from testimonies of God’s power in our daily lives.

This Fall, we’d like to invite women to experience a weekday quiet retreat at Dawson. The majority of this retreat will be personal time to commune with God through guided practices. We will begin and end our time in Scripture and discussing the importance of creating space in our life to retreat. Our prayer is that participants will experience soul refreshment and mind renewal. Retreat options include September 29, October 4, October 25, and November 3 from 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Space is limited. Register at dawsonchurch.org/women.
