For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What's Happening
CANDLELIGHT AT DAWSON
December 16–18
For more than 40 years, people have come to Dawson to experience the joy that God gave us with the birth of His son, Jesus, through Candlelight at Dawson. Culminating with the candlelit singing of Silent Night, these evenings of worship are anticipated each year by our community, making it a perfect time to invite a teacher, neighbor, or friend. This year there will be three worship opportunities:
Friday, December 16 at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, December 17 at 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 18 at 5:00 p.m.
Doors open 45 minutes prior to the service.

Appreciated stock is a good way to contribute to the church, because capital gains taxes are not assessed. Transfer your stock electronically by contacting the church Finance Office at 205-871-7324.
Seniors Can Save Taxes with an IRA Charitable RMD
Transfer your IRA assets via a tax provision which allows people who are 70½ or older to direct up to $100,000 per year of their IRA distributions to the church. The transfer counts toward the donor’s Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), but does not increase the donor’s taxable income, thereby helping to reduce income taxes. Please talk to your tax advisor and IRA Administrator about how to make a charitable rollover.

On Sunday, December 11, Blake Jenkins will be preaching in view of a call to be the Senior Pastor of Spring Valley Baptist Church in Columbia, SC. Blake has served faithfully here at Dawson as our Minister to College Students for the last four and a half years. With Blake’s leadership, we have all witnessed the spiritual and numerical growth in our college ministry. While Blake is excited for this new opportunity, he and his family will deeply miss Dawson and the rich relationships they have here. Please pray for Blake as he prepares for this transition. His last day in the office will be December 22.
We are excited for Blake, Becca, Thomas, and Will, and encourage you to attend a time of celebration and farewell to their family from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12 in the Chapel.

Christmas Eve at Dawson is both sacred and simple. On Christmas Eve we will tell the Christmas Story and sing familiar carols in a casual atmosphere. This short, family-friendly service is a wonderful time of worship for families of all ages. Join us at 5:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary, and please invite family and friends to worship with us as we celebrate the birth of our Savior and King.
