What's Happening
CALLED CHURCH CONFERENCE CANCELLED
In May 2022, the church approved the Sanctuary Renovation Master Plan and authorized the Ad Hoc Team to begin the selection process for a contractor. During this process, our designer, MG&A, reaffirmed their original budget numbers based on their design and were subsequently chosen by the team as contractor. MG&A began working on a guaranteed maximum price, which was presented to the Ad Hoc Team this past Monday. Although it had only been a couple of months, MG&A's new number was significantly higher in both the total amount and for a separate phased construction option. This unprecendented budget increase is not due to the staff or Ad Hoc Team significantly increasing the scope of the project. The number was so significantly higher that our Ad Hoc Team decided to pause on presenting a recommendation to the church. Therefore, the church conference previously scheduled for February 19 has been cancelled.
The Ad Hoc Team will continue to evaluate and work on solutions to best steward the church's resources. All options will be considered and closely studied. After those options have been fully vetted, a recommendation will be presented to the church family. Please continue to pray for wisdom and discernment for the Ad Hoc Team.

DSM MOTHER DAUGHTER RETREAT
February 24–25
Dawson Student Ministry's Mother/Daughter Retreat 2023 is on Friday evening, February 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in host homes around Birmingham and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25 at Dawson. The theme is Gospel Unity based on Ephesians 4:1–3. The retreat is $30 per person and includes three meals, coffee bar, speakers, Sons donuts in the afternoon, small gift, crafts, and more. DSM GUYS RETREAT
March 3–4, Camp Dawson
This weekend we will take a deep look into the heart of Jesus and the picture of biblical manhood. This event is open to all 6th-12th grade guys and their dads. Dads are invited but not required to attend. We will begin Friday evening at 4:00 p.m. at Camp Dawson and camp overnight in tents (please bring a tent). On Saturday, we will have worship and enjoy all things Camp Dawson. The event will wrap up at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the schedule, packing list, and meals provided. The cost is $30 per attendee.
