If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned but have not love, I gain nothing.

By recommendation of the Personnel Team, Dawson is excited to announce that Cole Griffith has been called to serve as our new Minister to College Students, effective April 3, 2023. Cole has a Master of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School, and is a gifted preacher and proven leader. He has experience leading and growing college ministries in the local church and is passionate about discipling college students. In his role at Dawson, Cole will lead all aspects of our College Ministry, including our BETA Internship program. Cole is married to Jada, and they live in the Homewood area. We are excited to have Cole join our staff and look forward to seeing God use him to lead college students. Please join us in praying for Cole and Jada as they make this new transition to Dawson.

Ruth Ann Turner has recently accepted a position with Early Intervention at Children’s of Alabama and is stepping down from her role as Hearts & Hands Coordinator at Dawson. For the last five years, Ruth Ann has done an exceptional job leading our Hearts and Hands Special Needs Ministry. She has skill and training, and uses that to minister to kids and families with special needs. God has used Ruth Ann to make a lasting impact in the lives of our Hearts and Hands families. Ruth Ann is excited for the new opportunity to serve young children and families as they begin their disability journey. Ruth Ann is trusting God’s guidance and provision. She is certain that He is calling her to step out in faith, but she will dearly miss working with our Hearts and Hands families. Ruth Ann, her husband Brett, and their three children, Anne Elliot, Claire, and Margaret will continue to be active members at Dawson. Her last Sunday as Hearts & Hands Coordinator is Sunday, March 26. We are working on plans to keep this vital ministry running smoothly in the days ahead. A huge thank you to Ruth Ann for her five years of faithful service!
KidLife, Dawson’s version of VBS, will be held on campus June 5–8. Our theme this year is “God At Work,” and we will need hundreds of volunteers to join our construction crew to teach preschoolers and children that God made them to GROW in God’s Word, SHOW their love for God, CARE for others, and SHARE the good news about Jesus. First-time to volunteer? New volunteers are placed with veteran KidLife teachers. Classes rotate through various activities throughout the morning, and all training, curriculum, and supplies will be provided for you. Adults and students can learn more about KidLife and sign up to serve HERE.

At Dawson, we believe church membership matters. That’s why we have created a new opportunity for all new members and guests called Membership Matters. This two-hour class provides a chance for us to share the heart of who Dawson is. We will take a close look at our vision & mission statements, our Doctrinal Foundation, and ongoing discipleship and mission opportunities available for all members to become involved. The next Membership Matters class is Sunday, April 2 from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Please register HERE. Reservations are required and lunch will be served.

Dawson is offering study guides and simulcast log-in information for those who wish to participate in this year's Secret Church on Friday, April 21. Founded and taught by pastor David Platt, Secret Church is a unique, one-night event that is streamed online to over 50,000 participants worldwide. This year's topic is on the book of Jonah. We will learn how the Gospel drives us to make disciples, not just of people who look and think like us—but even those we would consider our enemies. Please register HERE.
