Together at Dawson

The in-between years are typically marked by transition, connection, and growth. Our weekly worship service for college students and young adults, AUXANO, exists to help you walk through the transition and to facilitate connection and growth. This service meets on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel on Dawson’s campus. We gather together every week to worship God through song, prayer, and the Word.

The Dawsonaires have been a faithful ministering choir since 1983. This exciting group meets weekly, sharing in music, ministry, and fellowship. The choir travels to minister to different venues around the Birmingham area as well as an annual Spring Ministry Tour. You do not have to audition to join, it is for all who love to sing and can meet on Thursday mornings. The Fall season will begin on Thursday, September 5 at 10:00 a.m. in the Choir Room.

Tim Lovelace, a Christian comedian, musician, and award-winning songwriter, will entertain us in the Chapel on Thursday, September 5, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Though this is primarily a Senior Adult event, if you enjoy laughter and music, you are invited to attend. Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased at the North Building Reception Desk.

Dawson is hosting Lifeline’s Annual R(un) for One 5K and Fun Run. The R(un) for One 5K supports Lifeline Children’s Services (un)adopted ministry. Through (un)adopted, Lifeline’s international orphan care ministry, vulnerable children are receiving love and care, enrolling in schools, learning life skills, and hearing the hope of the Gospel for the 140 million orphans worldwide. For a lot of couples, marriage is extremely hard work. This is true, not because our spouse can be so difficult, but because we are all broken people. In this one-day seminar we will learn practical ways to improve our communication, resolve conflict, all-the-while maximizing our joy and His glory. The first session will be from 9:45-10:45 a.m. in the Chapel. Two additional sessions will take place that afternoon. Please come with questions as there will be opportunities to ask them as a part of each session. Registration is requested, but not required except for childcare. At Dawson, we believe church membership matters. Dawson’s Membership Matters Class is offered for all guests and new members. This two-hour class provides a chance for us to share the heart of who Dawson is. We will take a close look at our vision & mission statements, our Doctrinal Foundation, and ongoing discipleship and mission opportunities available for all members to become involved. The next Membership Matters class is on Sunday, September 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please register HERE. Reservations are required and lunch will be provided. Preschool childcare is available upon request.

Preschoolers and their families are invited to the Dawson Preschool Ministry Family Night: Cowboy Church. Join us Sunday, September 15 at 5:00 p.m. for family worship, snacks, inflatables, a petting zoo and pony rides as we learn to worship and obey God. No reservations are needed for this free event.
