Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Together in Giving & Serving
Dawson is thrilled to welcome Evan Knight as our new Associate Minister to Middle School Students. Evan is no stranger to our church as he grew up at Dawson and loves this church deeply. Evan has interned with Dawson Student Ministry and recently graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Information Sciences with a minor in Psychology. Evan prioritizes relationships and has a passion for God’s Word and people. He is excited to love and disciple middle school students for years to come. We are eager to see what God does through Evan as he helps give leadership to our middle school students. Please join us in praying for Evan and his wife Abby as they transition into this new role.

Beginning on Monday, September 16, we will be meeting on the third Monday of each month. Hear the fascinating story of a missionary family who serves in the Himalayan mountains. Their unique ministry involves prosthetics, greenhouses, and trekking to high-altitude, remote villages. We will collect monetary contributions (cash, check) for their ministry there. Come early and enjoy delicious brunch food and coffee.

Classes will resume at The Learning Center this August. One of the ways we provide for our students is by ensuring that they don’t try to learn on an empty stomach. By serving lunch each class day, we are able to meet the physical needs of our students and make it easier for them to find success in the classroom. If you are interested in serving this ministry by providing lunch for our students, please sign up using our Take Them A Meal list at dawsonchurch.org/tlclunch. Specific needs and suggestions for meals are provided on the Take Them A Meal site. For more information, please contact David Vining, Dawson’s new director for The Learning Center.

Dawson Preschool Ministry & Dawson Kids are excited to begin a new year of Wednesday night programming. Preschoolers age 2.5 to Kindergarten are invited to attend Music & Missions. This fun program offers Bible truths, play, music, and movement as we teach preschoolers to know, love, serve, and worship Jesus. Dawson Kids meet for Collide, where they participate in Collide Choirs and Collide Families, to learn biblical truths and fellowship together. Register today at dawsonchurch.org/wednesdays. Volunteers are needed for nursery, Music & Missions, and Collide. Contact Brooke Gibson at bgibson@dawsonchurch.org for preschool and Hannah Adams at hadams@dawsonchurch.org for kids.
This fall, we will be studying Colossians and Philemon. Our desire is to exalt Christ through the pages of these two books including a time of application and discussion. For those who would like breakfast, the cost is $6 and is served at 7:00 a.m. in the Social Hall. The study adjourns promptly at 8:00 a.m.

Together in Ministries
The in-between years are typically marked by transition, connection, and growth. Our weekly worship service for college students and young adults, AUXANO, exists to help you walk through the transition and to facilitate connection and growth. This service meets on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel on Dawson’s campus. We gather together every week to worship God through song, prayer, and the Word.

For a lot of couples, marriage is extremely hard work. This is true, not because our spouse can be so difficult, but because we are all broken people. In this one-day seminar we will learn practical ways to improve our communication, resolve conflict, all-the-while maximizing our joy and His glory. The first session will be from 9:45-10:45 a.m. in the Chapel. Two additional sessions will take place that afternoon. Please come with questions as there will be opportunities to ask them as a part of each session. Registration is requested, but not required except for childcare. For childcare for ages birth through fifth grade, please visit dawsonchurch.org/marriage.
