Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him my salvation and my God.

Together in Giving & Serving
For more than 40 years, people have come to Dawson for the beautiful experience of worship led by the Sanctuary Choir & Orchestra and Combined Student Choirs. You will hear about the joy that God gave us with the birth of His son, Jesus, through Candlelight at Dawson. Culminating with the candlelit singing of Silent Night, these evenings of worship are anticipated each year by our community, making it a perfect time to invite a teacher, neighbor, or friend. This year there will be three worship opportunities:
Friday, December 20 at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, December 21 at 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 22 at 5:00 p.m.
Doors open 45 minutes prior to the service.

GriefShare Surviving the Holidays is a one-day session for people who have lost a loved one and seek comfort and peace as the holidays approach. This event will start with a 35-minute video that will help you feel understood and encouraged, with stories of people who have found healing after loss and practical tips from experts. After the video, you will be given a safe, nonjudgmental space to share your experiences and feelings with the group—or simply listen. There’s no pressure to talk if you don’t want to. You will be given a Holiday Survival Guide full of tips on how to navigate the season, including coping with painful emotions, handling social events and traditions, and more. You do not need to register, and there is no fee for attending.

Ladies, please stop by one of the welcome desks during December to pick up a gift for advent. Each one of these “mug hugs” were lovingly made by the women from our Handmade Ministry. With each cup of coffee you drink this advent season, may this gift serve as a reminder of the warmth of God’s love and may the accompanying Scripture card remind you of His powerful presence. Available while supplies last.

As part of our 100 year celebration, Dawson's Music & Worship Ministry is hosting a special Chapel Choir Reunion at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Whether you sang with us recently or decades ago, we invite you to join us for a day of fellowship, worship, and music as we celebrate our shared legacy. The afternoon will begin with a time of fellowship and a short rehearsal, followed by a group picture, singing, and worship together. We’ll end the day with a church-wide picnic featuring special musical performances. To help us prepare, we are compiling a database of all Chapel Choir Alumni. Please visit dawsonchurch.org/chapelchoirreunion for more information and stay connected, even if you are unable to attend the event. Be sure to let your friends and family who’ve been part of Chapel Choir know about this exciting reunion!
