What's Happening
CANDLELIGHT AT DAWSON
Friday–Sunday, December 20–22, Sanctuary
For more than 40 years, people have come to Dawson for the beautiful experience of worship led by the Sanctuary Choir & Orchestra and Combined Student Choirs. You will hear about the joy that God gave us with the birth of His son, Jesus, through Candlelight at Dawson. Culminating with the candlelit singing of Silent Night, these evenings of worship are anticipated each year by our community, making it a perfect time to invite a teacher, neighbor, or friend. This year there will be three worship opportunities:
Friday, December 20 at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, December 21 at 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 22 at 5:00 p.m.
Doors open 45 minutes prior to the service.

December Memory Verse
Together in Giving & Serving
At a called church conference on December 1, the church unanimously approved the plan and cost for the renovation of our Sanctuary. On January 12, 2025, we will kick off the campaign to ask each Dawson member to give over and above their normal giving to help pay for the cost of the renovation. As part of the kickoff on January 12, adult Life Groups will combine into larger groups during their normal meeting times. There will be food, information about the renovation project and the campaign, a video from Pastor David, and a special Bible study lesson. All adult Life Groups will receive information on their meeting location for that day. As we embark upon this important project, please join us for this special occasion in the life of our church, and learn how we can all be found Faithful Together.

Remember that you can contribute tithes and offerings right up to the end of the year. As a reminder, the church offers several giving methods:
Mail: you may continue to send in your tithes and offerings through the postal service.
Online: you can access online giving at dawsonchurch.org/give to make a one-time contribution through your checking account, set up recurring payments, or authorize a direct bank draft.
Text-to-Give: simply text the dollar amount (Example: 25 for $25 or 50 for $50) of your donation to (205) 352-2323. First time users will be asked to complete a one-time form, safely linking your debit card to your smart phone. Thereafter, you can give anytime from anywhere with a single text.
Stock: contact the church Finance Office to confirm your gift and specify its distribution. Dawson’s stock account is at Raymond James & Associates and the contact person is Amy Kutschke at 205-802-4216. Stock transfers might take a few days, so allow plenty of time to assure that the church receives your gift no later than December 31, 2024.
Contributions accepted through December 31
For your convenience, the church office will be open on Tuesday, December 31, from 8:00 a.m.– 6:00 p.m. If you are unable to get your contribution to the church by 6:00 p.m. on December 31, or have it postmarked by midnight, December 31, please call 205-871-7324 and we will assist you in any way that we can. Thank you for your faithfulness in giving to God’s ministries through Dawson in 2024 and your financial commitments for 2025.

Christmas Eve at Dawson is both sacred and simple. On Christmas Eve we will tell the Christmas Story and sing familiar carols in a casual atmosphere. This short, family-friendly service is a wonderful time of worship for families of all ages. Join us at 5:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary, and please invite family and friends to worship with us as we celebrate the birth of our Savior and King.

Today we welcome Dawson Music Academy students sharing their talents as they play various carols and songs that celebrate the joy of Christmas. Academy students have also shared music throughout the Homewood community this season. Our students and instructors are grateful for the opportunity to minister to others through the gift of music.
