What's Happening

SANCTUARY RENOVATION CAMPAIGN

Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.
1 Corinthians 4:2

On Sunday, January 12, we will begin a nine-week journey of our Sanctuary Renovation Capital Campaign. During this time, each of us will be preparing our hearts to hear God’s call to give sacrificially for the renovation of our Sanctuary. The new design will retain the sacred feel of the Sanctuary while providing a beautifully updated place of worship that will meet our congregation’s needs for many generations.

Throughout this campaign, there will be multiple opportunities to learn all about the renovation project. Be sure to pick up a copy of the Faithful Together informational booklet available at the Next Steps Area, Vestibule, Arendall Welcome Center, and the Church Office. There will also be three informational meetings where you can hear all about the project and ask questions. These informational meetings will be held on:

Sunday, February 2 at 5:00 p.m. in Social Hall
Wednesday, February 12 at 12:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall
Wednesday, March 5 at 5:00 p.m. in Room 305 West.

Most importantly, please pray for God’s clear direction regarding the sacrificial commitment He wants you to make above and beyond your normal tithes and offerings over the next five years. It will take every Dawson member giving sacrificially to reach our goal of $10,000,000. We will all make our commitments on March 16.

For 100 years, faithful servants of Jesus Christ, with prayer and God’s guidance, have built the spiritual and physical foundation of all that Dawson stands for today. Over these next weeks, please visit the five historical display areas around our campus and learn more about some of those faithful followers who came before us.

MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDY Wednesdays, 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel & 6:00 p.m. in the Social Hall

Please join us as we examine some questions every Christian should ask (and answer). Pastor David and other staff members will help us discover how Scripture answers these critical questions. Some of the topics include:

  • Were Adam and Eve real people?
  • Does the Bible justify slavery?
  • Does the Bible actually condemn same-sex relationships?
  • How do we reconcile the love of God with an eternal Hell?
  • Don’t all religions basically teach the same thing?
